11 months

1 year ago tomorrow I gave birth to our perfect, sweet, adorable baby girl! I can't believe how fast the year has gone. I can't count how many hours of sleep I (and Colin) have lost, how many diapers we've changed, clothes we've washed but every moment has been so fun. Parenthood is the greatest joy and such a blessing. I love being a mom!

I thought I would get her 11 month up before I get too far behind. At 11 months Eliza now has her 2 bottom teeth that show every time she smiles, so cute! She is standing on her own and taking 1 or 2 steps before she gets back down on her bottom to scoot where she wants to go. She is in to EVERYTHING, the dog food being her favorite. She loves to eat and wants to eat whatever we are having. She rarely lets us feed her with a spoon anymore because she prefers to do it herself. She loves Kix's and choc. goldfish (she doesn't get to eat those very often though but always manages to find them in the pantry) She loves the dog and follows him around, pulls his ears and hair and hugs him like he is a teddy bear. She loves to read, talk and sing. She loves music and always starts baby dancing when she hears some. She sleeps 12 hours at night and 3-4 hours during the day, must admit this is my favorite milestone! Even though she sleeps a lot, her waking hours are go, go, go! She is a busy almost 1 year old. She loves her blankie and baby doll that her Grandma Thomas got her. She learned how to turn on and off the light switch. She points at everything and says "dat, dat". She wants to know what everything is. She makes funny noises with her tongue, which is so cute. She loves splashing in the bath. I get a half-dozen people stopping to talk to her every time we are at the grocery store "oh, she is so cute". She is going through a wanting mommy phase, which I LOVE! And for the first time she was bashful when one of the nurses at the hospital was talking to her while Colin held her. She kept burrowing her head into Colin's chest, it was precious. So tomorrow she'll be 1 and I just wish I could slow down time a little so my baby won't grow too fast. But it is fun to see her grow and learn.

Happy Birthday, Eliza! What a sweet little girl, I absolutely cannot wait to see her in two weeks! Too bad my girls aren't coming because they would adore her. But not too bad for me (hehe). Ryan and her will have fun together as long as Ryan doesn't beat her up too much. (JK).

Turning 1 is the BEST. The next few months they start doing all kinds of thing that make you die of happiness. One of my favorite is when they bow their heads for prayer and close their eyes shut. And when they start to throw away trash. Anyway, have a fun day celebrating!

Those are great snow pictures. Happy 1st Birthday Eliza! I love the snuggle shy phase. Enjoy it. Ada is doing the same thing. Rob is melting as I'm sure Colin is :).
