Update
Colin went in last Monday for his 3-month check-up and his PFT's (pulmonary function tests) were significantly lower than his baseline. Dr. Liou wanted to admit him into the hospital. After Colin and I discussed everything we decided he should go in. We have waited a week for a bed. The CFers share the unit with the pregnant women and apparently they have priority. There is something in the SLC water, I think because there are so many pregnant women. Anyway some of the sweet nurses, who love Colin, pulled some strings and got him in 1 day sooner then he would have gotten in. Today we spent getting settled into the hospital. Colin is doing well and we know that a large contributor to his current problem is the horrible air quality in the valley and the constant inversion.
This has been overwhelming for both of us because Colin has never had to go into the hospital more than once a year, his last hospitilization was only 3 months ago. This has really opened our eyes to the fact that we need to make some significant life changes, one of them including moving to somewhere with clean, fresh air. We won' be moving anytime soon but we are in the planning phase. I have 4 weeks left of nursing school and then we can think about moving.
We love you all! Thanks for all of your love and support! Please keep us in your prayers.
