Last week Colin and I went to the bay area to celebrate his grandma's 80th birthday. It was great to also visit where I grew up and eat at some of my favorite spots. We left a few days early before the festivities began so we could spend some time in Alamo/Danville and make a day trip to San Fran.

Tuesday - drove ALL day, too much sitting
Wednesday - tour of all the homes I grew up in, my church, my high school, ate lunch at the Basil Leaf Cafe in downtown Danville, window shopped at Broadway Plaza, got some frozen yogurt from Yogurt Park
Thursday - took BART into the city, went to CA Academy of Science in Golden Gate park for the morning and ate lunch there, the aquarium was amazing, my favorite were the glow in the dark fish, took cable car to Ghiradelli Square at a sundae then walked along Fisherman's wharf and got clam chowder in a bread bowl, we had a fun time, a lot of walking but worth it
Friday - hang out w/ Colin's immediate and extended family, took Colin the Brass Bear for lunch (yummmm), went to A's game in Oakland, the A's lost but it was fun to eat nachos and do the wave
Saturday - did a session in the Oakland temple with Colin's grandma, aunts/uncles, cousins, parents, went to Fenton's in Berkley for lunch (I got a black and tan Em), napped at the hotel, took family pictures, ate dinner, had movie night & birthday cake at grandma's where we watched films from when grandma was a little girl, that was neat
Sunday - drove all day, picked up Jonas from my dad's

We had a great time. Thanks to Beth & Bri for watching Jonas for 2 days and 1 night as well as to my dad. I need to say how awesome my dad was to watch Jonas for 4 days. My dad stayed with him at our house so Jonas could be in his usual environment which was really nice. We are so appreciative for our parents.
