August Highlights

Eliza is 6 months old. She can make lots of new sounds, sit-up on her own, eat pureed foods; squash, bananas, apples, prunes, carrots and oatmeal (will not eat green beans) and is still nursing. She finally has enough hair that I can put clips in it! She loves being read and sung to, bathtime, jogs with mom and Jonas, swinging on the porch swing in the backyard with mom or dad, playing with her toys, putting everything into her mouth and jumping in her jonny jump-up. She has figured out that she can wiggle herself out of her bumbo and bouncer. She weighs 13 lbs and is 24 inches long, 5th percentile for weight and 30th percentile for height. She is petite but healthy. Our favorite is that she wakes up smiling, happy and talking to herself until we come get her. She loves to smile and is such a HAPPY girl. We are loving life and so glad she is in our family!

My mom spent 2 weeks visiting from N. Dakota. We did lots of fun things; shopped, got pedicures, ate, sewed, visited family. As always it was nice to have my mom visit because she helped me clean, cook, and watch Eliza so I could get some naps in. Also Colin and I went on our first date since Eliza was born and it was great. One night we went to a movie and the other we went to SLC to see The Lion King with Colin's family, which was FANTASTIC!

Kacy came home from India. She brought back the cutest outfit and stuffed animal for Eliza. I loved seeing all of her pictures and hearing her stories. Wow, what a neat experience she had. 2 days ago she left for Paris to be an au pair for 9 months. So excited for her. Carpe diem!

My awesome sister

My sister Kacy has been in India for 7ish weeks now. She raised money to serve at a childrens school in a leprosy colony, giving up her summer to serve others. I am so proud of her. Her experiences are amazing! She is learning and growing so much. Check out her blog, The Real India.
