teeth

Life is rough right now for our little Eliza. She has had 5 teeth (3 tops and 2 bottom) for a long time now. Suddenly all of her teeth have been coming in within the last week. Literally a new tooth is cutting through the gums every night. We have 5 new teeth since last week. I have had to get up with her through the night and rock her when she wakes up crying, poor little thing. Of course I have given her medicine so that has helped. But she is a little star and still such a sweetie, giggly and happy baby.
A few weeks ago I went to check on her before Colin and I went to sleep and all I saw were 2 little feet. I had to snap some pictures, just to cute to resist!

Summer is winding down and I am glad because I love fall and can't wait for it to come. But we have been enjoying the final days of summer eating cherries and corn-on-the cobb, bbqing, playing in the water, going to the park and getting frozen yogurt. Here is Eliza enjoying some cherries, with her favorite hat.

Here we go...

As if raising a baby, working part-time nights as a nurse and trying to keep up with life (taking care of my household, my hubby, myself) is not enough I thought it would be fun to go back to school! Why not? This is my 1st week back at school and to be honest I am so excited! It is a huge milestone for me, one I never thought I'd be doing . I am going back to get my doctorate in nursing. I will be a midwife (the real kind, the kind that doesn't do homebirths and is actually allowed to work in a hospital) and a women's health nurse practitioner. Everything has fallen into place and I am grateful to have this opportunity and to have such a supportive husband. He has always wanted me to do this even when I was unsure, so its awesome. For the record though, after this I am done with school, for reals!

Summer Part V: Heber City Carnival

We wanted to check out the Heber city Carnival this year. We managed to spend almost 3 hours there even though it was a tiny carnival. There weren't a lot of people there which was nice. Eliza loved riding the carousel, she did it twice. We took her on the ferris wheel too. I realized how much I dislike heights. We got some food. It was such a great way to spend the afternoon with Colin & Eliza.

Summer Part IV: Popsicles

We pretty much eat a popsicle every day. We usually eat one after lunch and hang out in the backyard with Jonas. It is always so messy but I guess that is the fun of summer!

Summer Part III: Yellowstone

Mid-July we spent a week with Colin's family at a cabin outside of Yellowstone. I love seeing animals so the highlight for me was driving through Yellowstone National Park and seeing elk, deer, and big bison. We saw Old Faithful and the gysers which were really beautiful. We went on some nature walks and visited the headwaters of some big rivers, that was neat. Eliza loved swinging on the swing and picking and smelling the wild flowers. Colin & I even got adventurous and went on a raft down the river.

Summer Part II: 4th of July

We woke up early on the 4th and went to the Midway Pancake Breakfast. We ran into Colin's aunt & uncle from CA (didn't even know they were in town, funny uh?). I think that is the only festive thing we did. At night our neighbors did fireworks on the street so we watched that for a while.

Summer Part I: Making Cookies

We've had a pretty low-key summer. Eliza is getting more fun by the second and we are just enjoying our little family! She loves helping mom make cookies and especially licking the spoon!
